Corey doesn’t know how he gets home. He remembers leaving the doomed concert venue. Remembers walking, walking. Remembers emotion spiking and roiling around him and then flattening out again as people notice him and he cuts the knees of their alarm out from under them. Remembers flashes—a street corner, a block thick with the last of autumn’s fallen leaves, jaywalking while a car lays on its horn. He could never trace the route on a map.
